Trying something new!

A very Happy New Year from us at Curated Pieces. We hope you have had a wonderful start to 2023. This time of year can be stressful with the pressures of reinventing yourself and making vast changes to how things were last year. We are here to tell you that it is okay to use this time to breathe. Take this month to reset and, if it feels right, set out what you would like to achieve. This could even be something as vague as “Try something new”.

There are some great ‘New things’ you can give a try in January to challenge yourself or even to be a little healthier and help yourself to feel good. Dry January is a great challenge where you spend the whole month sober without any alcohol consumption. So many people end up extending their time staying sober as they love how healthy and fresh they feel. Others just like the challenge. Not drinking does not mean you have to miss out on the social events that usually come with drinking alcohol. Ordering a simple soft drink or mocktail will do the trick and some of the time you can’t even notice the difference.

Coconut bowls

Another wonderful thing you can give a go in January is Veganuary. Becoming permanently vegan can be a big challenge and so veganuary is an incredible way to try it out and see if it works for you. A plant-baseed diet is much better for the planet as it requires much less energy and farmland to feed a vegan. So even if you aren’t able to keep it up for good, you have at least done a little good for the month of January. Our favourite vegan things to make are fruity smoothie bowls with vegan yogurt and nuts and yummy chickpea salads. We love making these and putting them in our Curated Pieces coconut bowls. Remember, anything you are trying out should be for yourself and not for other people. If you want to give something new a try, then go for it. Remove any pressure from yourself and just have some fun. If you are feeling like you should have achieved a million things already this month, don’t worry you still have a full year ahead of you. Give yourself some credit and remember to breathe a little this month. Take time for yourself, you deserve it!
